There is a meme circulating on FACEBOOK in which you can challenge a fellow photographer with posting seven days of black and white images. Katie Cannon, a friend from photojournalism school at UNC-Chapel Hill, nominated me. I decided to do a little photo story of our life with five kids at the holidays. Never a dull moment!
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 1.
This was yesterday at the incredibly crowded Southpoint mall with my two girls, Amira and Riley.
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 2.
We had three inches of rain last night. This is Roman exploring the creek that borders our yard.
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 3
This is a portrait of me with my youngest son, Leo, as we head out for a family gathering at my parent’s home. Time to put on a shirt, Leo!
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 4
Christmas is not complete without a mad dash to round everyone up for eating and gift opening. This is Roman and Leo heading up to wake up the teenagers.
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 5
We have been burning a fire in the fireplace constantly this Christmas break as the weather was cold and rainy. The weather has warmed to a sunny 65 but the fire is still going, so here is Collin chopping firewood with his dad while Roman looks on.
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 6
Since it is too wet to go outside the kids have been making up indoor games. This one involves a steamroller and lots of jumping, The dogs like it, too.
BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE, DAY 7
As if the holidays are not busy enough, our family has MANY birthdays from December 7th to January 15. Our holiday babies are Vivian, Roman, Mary Mallett, Sam Prelipp (pictured here blowing out his candles), Leo and Riley. We had everyone over for a huge feast on boxing day and were able to celebrate Sam’s 12th birthday together. Love you Sam!!!
