Cameron Crazies
After a late summer break, we got back to weddings with a really memorable one. Katie LaFiura and Stephen Misuraca were married on August 29th, 2009 at The Duke Chapel. This wedding celebrated the union of Katie and Stephen, but also their love of Duke and the many things it has to offer. Namely, a chance at a great education, lifelong friends, the incredible chapel, their flagship hotel the Washington Duke, and most of all, Cameron Indoor Stadium. This was definitely the first time I had the good favor to photograph a couple and their wedding party in an athletic stadium. What fun! I think the story is best told in the slideshow below.
You can also view their images and purchase prints and products in their GALLERY.

An African Celebration
Chichi Ugwuoke and David Owino were wed on July 12, 2009 at Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. Chichi is Nigerian American and David is Kenyan and together they are a perfect match. I was telling them at the end of my time shooting their wedding that I was going to miss photographing them! We had done an engagement portrait and then a bridal portrait. And I had been working closely on the wedding details and schedule with Rachel of Bliss By Sam. Each and every encounter with this couple and their friends and family had been full of laughter and happiness. These two seem to make all of those around them shine.
You can see A SLIDESHOW of their wedding story, set to music.
You can also see A GALLERY of their images from which you can order prints and other products.
Enjoy!

Here comes the rain again!
I have heard it told many times that rain is good luck on a wedding day. Well, tell that to the people who spend countless hours planning a lovely garden wedding. They all become obsessive compulsive about checking the weather update in the days prior to their big day. This was the case for the Kane / Frommer wedding on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Fearrington Village.
Just in case the rain did come, the bride’s mother, had purchased a lot of bright, green umbrellas. As luck would have it, Molly and Scott were preparing to walk down the aisle when the skies opened up. The staff at Fearrington quickly ushered their guests to a dry spot. Molly and her family remained positive and decided they would wait for a break in the precipitation and then carry on. I am so glad they did! You can see a gallery of their images by clicking HERE: We also created a fun SLIDESHOW of their wedding story.

We had been so glad to get to know this couple well in the year before the wedding. You can see a post about their engagement session with their unbelievably cute dog, Piper, by clicking HERE. Then, in the month before the wedding we got to know Molly and her parents even better at a bridal portrait session. See that HERE.
After sending the link I heard back from Molly:
Hi Kristin,
I’m so sorry for not writing sooner! These are amazing. I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with all of them! You captured the day perfectly and while it went by in a blur, we won’t forget anything with the help of these pictures. So thank you!
Best,
Molly
And from Molly’s mom, Margo, who really did an incredible job of planning this wedding:
Wow!!! I cannot tell you how perfect these photos are! Everyone has watched the slideshow over and over again - it captures the day perfectly and the music is a great addition. There are so many wonderful photos in the gallery that I have only made it through a few pages - they are exactly what Molly wanted, lots of photos of family and friends - captured as they celebrated with us. And even the posed pictures capture the personalities of the people photographed - we love them! I cannot thank you and Sarah enough, we are so happy.
